Macedonian police informed that it has arrested a group of Islamist terrorists who were apparently planning attacks. The arrests were conducted in Skopje and Kumanovo. Last Sunday a gas explosion killed three children aged 8, 9 and 11 in the village of Romanovce, Kumanovo region. Seven other people were injured critically when a gas cylinder exploded in a house. Slovakia donated Wednesday 1,500 pairs of boots worth EUR 113,000 for Macedonian police officers. Slovak Ambassador Martin Bezak handed over the donation in the attendance of Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski. Seven passengers, including one child, were injured in a car crash on Tuesday early afternoon on the Skopje – Tetovo highway. A Peugeot Boxer hit a Volkswagen Sharan with Albanian license plates and then slammed into the pay-toll booth near the village of Glumovo. All of those injured are from the Peugeot van and all are Albanian citizens. They are being provided treatment in the Skopje Clinic complex.
A woman died and 27 passengers were injured when a bus filled with tourists crashed on a highway near the Macedonian town of Veles on Sunday night.
