Six people killed by gas explosion in Kumanovo


Last Sunday a gas explosion killed three children aged 8, 9 and 11 in the village of Romanovce, Kumanovo region. Seven other people were injured critically when a gas cylinder exploded in a house. Three of them passed away later in hospital, the number of victims reached now already six persons.

The latest victim is a 63 year old woman who had extensive burns from the explosion and the subsequent fire. The explosion killed three children immediately, aged 8, 9 and 11, later a 36 year old woman and a 58 year old man passed away.

The 36 year old woman died wednesday from the injuries sustained during Sunday’s gas explosion and fire in the village of Romanovce near Kumanovo. The 58 year old men passed away two days after the tragedy.

According to MoI, the fire was extinguished by the Kumanovo fire department and a public prosecutor had been notified and a team from the Kumanovo police department worked on determining the causes that led to the tragic accident.

The residents of Kumanovo’s Romanovce are in morning and say they do not remember such a tragedy with such a number of victims and injuries in one family.
