Macedonian police informed that it has arrested a group of Islamist terrorists who were apparently planning attacks. The arrests were conducted in Skopje and Kumanovo. From the footage made available by the Interior Ministry, it’s visible that the group had the black ISIS flag and was preparing explosive belts with metal balls for causing greater casualties. Last Sunday a gas explosion killed three children aged 8, 9 and 11 in the village of Romanovce, Kumanovo region. Seven other people were injured critically when a gas cylinder exploded in a house. Three of them passed away later in hospital, the number of victims reached now already six persons. The latest victim is a 63 year old woman who had extensive burns from the explosion and the subsequent fire. Macedonia police stopped 43 illegal migrants on Tuesday evening hidden in a bakery van travelling on Kumanovo-Tabanovce highway, the police informed on Wednesday. According to the police, among the 43 illegal migrants, 8 of them are underage. 14 migrants are from Pakistan, 16 from Iraq and 13 from Afghanistan. The proposal of the Macedonian government to extend the state of emergency at borders was approved by the parliament on Monday. The green light was given by the Commission for Defense and Security in the Macedonian parliament. The state of emergency that was to end on December 31 would be prolonged for additional six months till June 30 2017.
