New road signs erected on 'Friendship' highway

New signs bearing the name "Friendship" were erected on the Tabanovce - Bogorodica highway, which runs from the Serbian border to the Greek border.

PM Zoran Zaev announced that the highway would be renamed after meeting with his Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras in Davos.

The government made the decision to change the highway name from "Alexander the Great" to "Friendship" mid-February.

In addition to the highway, the "Alexander the Great" Airport in Skopje was renamed Skopje International Airport.

The old letter sign was removed last weekend, and the Alexander the Great monument that was inside the airport building was removed the night before March 1.
