Skopje and Ohrid airports 'back in business'
Passenger numbers at Macedonia’s international airports, in Skopje and Ohrid, rose by 48.1% year-on-year in the first eight months of 2021, reaching 849,003, Aeroports de Paris (ADP) said. ADP owns 46% of Turkey’s TAV Airports, the company operating the airports in Skopje and the lakeside city of Ohrid. Wizz Air to introduce four new routes from Macedonia
Hungarian Low-Cost CarrierWizz Air will start four new routes from Macedonia to Italy, Germany and Denmark. Ukraine’s Windrose Airline launches flights from December 6 from Kiev to Skopje, and one day later to Belgrade in Serbia. Finland has banned flights from Macedonia after several Skopje – Turku flights in a row brought dozens of coronavirus infected patients. German low-cost air carrier Eurowings launched on Monday flights linking Macedonia's beautiful and historic Ohrid to Germany's Stuttgart, later a second new route will start connecting Ohrid with Dusseldorf on July 17th. Heavy rains and strong winds hit Macedonian capital of Skopje on Saturday, causing flooding and road blocking. According to the Macedonian hydro-meteorological authority, the wind reached the speed of 80 km per hour. The bad weather caused the blockade of roads for falling trees, damaging cars and flooding. Strike closes Greek border crossings on Wednesday
Border crossings leading to Greece (Medzitlija, Star Dojran and Bogorodica) will be closed on Wednesday due to a 24-hour strike of Greek customs officers. Traffic of passenger vehicles, lorries and buses will be interrupted, says the Ministry of Interior after receiving a notification from the Greek police. Macedonia: Gasoline prices upped - Diesel crushed 1 € mark
Gasoline and diesel prices go up in Macedonia by MKD 2 per liter as of Monday midnight, says the Energy Regulatory Commission. The new price of EUROSUPER BS-95 is MKD 70 per liter, EUROSUPER BS-98 will now cost MKD 71.5 per liter, diesel price stands at MKD 62, and that of extra light household fuel at MKD 50.5. The price of crude oil M-1 HC will also be upped to MKD 30.037 per kg. Diesel price upped up to 20% compared to last year and crushed now the "historic" mark of 1 Euro per liter!
