The Customs Administration shows that 2,615 fewer cars were registered last year than in 2016, and a drastic 31,033 fewer than in 2010 when the preferential import of used cars was allowed. A total of 213,564 people in Macedonia last year were unemployed, which is 22.4% of the active population in the country, statistics show. Compared to the year before, data show that the unemployment rate dropped by 1.3%. An unemployment rate of 23.7% was registered in 2016. 225,049 people were unemployed. In 2017, the labour force in Macedonia included 954,212 people with 740,648 being employed and 213,564 being jobless, according to the State Statistical Office.
