Handball EURO 2022: Before departure, five people tested positive in team Macedonia

 Today the Macedonian handball team is leaving for Debrecen (Hungary), where they will take part in the European Handball Championship 2022.

Shortly before leaving, there was the first bad news for Team Macedonia. So far, they have been spared, but now the pandemic has hit the team. The coronavirus occurred in our camp at the last moment in five people, which had an impact on the squad selection of coach Kiril Lazarov.

The goalkeepers suffered from the positive tests by Nikola Mitrevski and Marko Kizic, so a solution had to be found and Gradimir Chanevski and Blagojce Trajkovski got a chance for the EHF EURO 2022.

In addition to Mitrevski and Kizic the players Goce Ojleski and Mihajlo Mladenovic as well as fitness trainer Petar Basnarkov have been infected with Corona.

Macedonia competes at the EHF EURO 2022 in a group with Slovenia, Montenegro and Denmark. The games are scheduled for January 13th, 15th and 17th.
