We have held discussions with company "Aegean Airlines" and the flight will be operational over the course of 2018, said Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Georgios Katrougalos regarding the Athens-Skopje flight.
"There are discussions in Aegean over the flight's activation. We see this as a positive development, like every measure that promotes economic cooperation between the two countries," Katrougalos told MIA at Wednesday's press briefing.
Last October, Aegean Airlines told a press conference that the Athens-Skopje flight would be one of its 11 new destinations in 2018.
The main obstacle for the flight's operation was the name of the Skopje airport, which has since changed.
The Athens-Skopje flight was introduced in 2003 but was later discontinued.
