Conflict of interest Part 2: Nimetz donated 25k Dollars for Greek Lobby in USA

Under the title "$ 25,000 from Nimitz for the main Congresseoman of the Greek Lobby in the United States, the United Macedonian Diaspora said that from 1995 to 2017, the United Nations mediator Matthew Nimetz donated a total of $ 25,000 in the campaign of Congressman Carolyn Maloney, Democrat from New York, the founder and co-chair of the Congressional Friendship Group with Greece. Also, Nimetz has donated funds in the campaign of former Greek Senator Sarbainz. This information can be found on the official website of the US Federal Electoral Commission.

The announcement states that Congresswoman Maloney founded this Congressional Friendship Group with Greece in 1996 and is actually a representative of one of the largest Greek communities outside Greece and Cyprus. This group of Maloney has five goals, one of which is for the US relations with the "former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" as it is written on its website. She regularly submits anti-Macedonian resolutions to the US Congress against Macedonia and is declaratively opposed to Macedonia's membership under the constitutional name in NATO. She was a major adversary to the recognition of Macedonia under the constitutional name in 2004 by the United States of then-President George W. Bush. When Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, she has sent a letter to Clinton asking the United States to withdraw the recognition of Macedonia's constitutional name. And today she regularly writes articles against Macedonia and holds speeches in the Congress and in front of the Greek community against Macedonia.

The United Macedonian Diaspora publicly asks if the President of the Republic of Macedonia, the Government, the Parliament and the Opposition will continue to neglect and silence these facts, where it is more than obvious that they are nothing but a conflict of interest to the supposedly neutral Nimetz: personal donations, Danish bank with a department in Greece in 2005 when Nimetz was serving as chief operating officer of General Atlantik, and the last conflict, ie. the newly employed assistant of Nimetz with Greek origin.

UMD insists on the state leadership, Macedonia should urgently suspend UN-sponsored talks and ask the General Assembly with a resolution that the Republic should use the constitutional name in all international relations and relations with the UN.

UMD is ready and stands by its network to contribute and help Macedonia to start and deepen relations with political representatives in the United States and the UN, as well as to contribute to the economic development of the country.

The Diaspora is the largest investor in Macedonia, firmly defending the name, identity, language, and nation, and will not allow Macedonia's home to penetrate into security, political and economic instability.
