The Croatian champion PPD Zagreb last night defeated Macedonia's vice-captain Metalurg with 32:26 in the fifth round of the regional handball SEHA League.
Metalurg on several occasions were close to the visitors and to the 50th minute there was an active result 25:26, but then players from Zagreb with a series of 6: 1 reached a convincing triumph.
Stipe Mandalinić with eight goals was the most efficient at the match, while in Metalurg, Halil Jaganac scored seven.
In the absence of the first coach Lino Cervar, Metalurg from the bench was led by assistant coach Aleksandar Jovic.
The other two duels of the 5th round played yesterday:
Tatran Prešov - Dinamo Pančevo 36:24 and
Meshkov Brest - Nexe 35:23.
Before completing the round, Vardar leads with 12 points, Zagreb has 10. Prešov and Meshkov have 9. Metalurg is sixth with 6 points.
