Macedonia: Pressure from US Embassy to free terrorists who executed 5 teens

Public Prosecutor Liljana Spasovska known for her cozy relationship with Mitko Burchevski (Jess Baily’s right hand) requested an annulment of the first and second-degree verdicts and a retrial at public session on the ‘Monster’ case, held in the Supreme Court on Tuesday on the appeals over the life sentences for the defendants, delivered by the Basic Court and later confirmed by the Appellate Court.

The existence of illegally recorded conversations may alter the course of the trial, Spasovska said, adding that she asked the court to provide them. For terrorists illegal recordings cannot be used, but for certain politicians, they can?!

‘The court is obliged to see that justice is served,’ she said.

The defendants have claimed their innocence throughout the trial. Their lawyers said today there was no evidence of the crime and qualified the rulings as unjust and biased. They also referred to the testimony of the protected witness, saying it is contradictory, while witnesses failed to recognize the defendants.

Alil Demiri, Afrim and Agjim Ismailovic and Ezim and Haki Aziri and Samil Ljuta have been sentenced to life in prison for the Smilkovo Lake killings.

Kire Trickovski, Filip Slavkovski, Cvetanco Ackovski, Aleksandar Nakjevski and Borce Stefanovski were found slain near Smilkovo Lake on 13 April 2012 on the eve of Easter.
