Nikola Gruevski, leader of Macedonian VMRO-DPMNE, and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama shared opinions Tuesday about the relations between the two countries, political developments in Macedonia and its strategic goals, the party said in a press release.
VMRO-DPMNE is ready for cooperation with Albania, which is to be based on principles, Gruevski told Rama.
However, various documents, such as the ‘Tirana Platform’, cannot contribute to developing a sincere friendship between the countries, but undermine the inter-ethnic relations in Macedonia, Gruevski said.
He commended Albania’s support of Macedonia’s bid to join NATO, expressing belief that Macedonia and Albania would cooperate on their road to the EU membership.
