World-renowned French stage actor Marcel Bozonnet has been named Actor of Europe - the coveted recognition of the Actor of Europe International Theater Festival, whose 15th edition opens on July 6 in Resen.
The opening ceremony will feature a documentary about Bozonnet, which is expected to be attended by French Ambassador Christian Timonier and Georges Banu, a professor at the Sorbonne and president the International Association of Theatre Critics (AICT).
To mark the 15th anniversary of the festival, Rector of the University for Audiovisual Arts in Skopje Jordan Plevnesh and Nicolae Mandea, Rector of the Bucharest-based National Film and Theater University, are set to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
Plays by theater companies from Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Serbia, France, Greece and Croatia will be vying for the top prize with the winner expected to be announced at the closing ceremony on July 11 in Resen.
Previous recipients of the Actor of Europe award include Ljuba Tadic, Bruce Meyers, Rade Sherbedzija, Ana Paterson, Milena Zupancic, Yon Karamitru, Zijah Sokolovic, Kostas Gakides, Irina Evdokomova, Dimitry Orgotska, etc.
