Reducing Pollution: Skopje offers Free Public Transport to Everyone

As of Tuesday, the City of Skopje is introducing free public transport in all buses of the public transportation enterprise and privately-owned buses for Skopje citizens until the air pollution levels go down, said Skopje Mayor Koce Trajanovski on Monday.

The City of Skopje and the municipalities will intensify controls at construction sites, while the public utility company will continue to intensively wash city boulevards and streets with Calcium Magnesium Acetate.

Trajanovski urged City of Skopje employees to use the bus when coming to work, adding that official vehicles will be exclusively used by the inspectorate.

The Skopje Mayor also called on ministries to amend the existing laws for the purpose of introducing odd-even rationing of vehicles in the city.
