Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia (MoFA) through its Embassy to Washington in diplomatic manner asked for stance of the US Department of State following the statements of the US Congressman Dana Rohrabacher given with interview with Tirana-based "VizionPlus."
Congressman Rohrabacher is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. He serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats. His expressed views generated great anxiety in regard to Macedonia and the region and inflame nationalist rhetoric in the neighborhood, returning us to the past, Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
Foreign Ministry expresses confidence that the US Department of State will adequately clear up any doubt about the presented positions and would affirm its policy towards Macedonia and the Balkans
In an interview for "VizionPlus" Rohrabacher said that the "creation of Macedonia as a state was a failure and that now, all the circumstances are created for this state to be shared by its neighboring, including Kosovo and Bulgaria."
