MZT loses to Gran Canaria - McCalebb open to returning to the national team

MZT Skopje Aerodrom lost 98:75 to Gran Canaria at a home field game on Wednesday. The Spaniards were especially strong in the first half, which ended 51:33.

MZT held its own in the third quarter, which it narrowly won, but then lost its pace in the last quarter and allowed the visiting team to rake up points and improve the point difference further.

Josh Smith was the best MZT player with 22 points and 11 rebounds. One bit of good news from the game were the comments from Gran Canaria player Lester Bo McCalebb that he is open to returning both to MZT and to the Macedonian national team, where he was the star helping Macedonia to the fourth place in the 2011 European Championship.

“It is not up to me if I come back to the team. Maybe I will see you again in Skopje soon. We have a great season in Gran Canaria, but we never know about the future, I may come and play for MZT Skopje”, said McCalebb.
