Evgenij Pop Acev shares first place after FINA open water marathon competitions

Macedonian open water marathon swimmer Evgenij Pop Acev shared the first place in the FINA Grand Prix with Argentinian Guillermo Bertola.  Both have 43 point after the final race of the competition, the Capri – Naples marathon.

Pop Acev finished the race in fourth place, which was enough for him to share the first place in the overall standing. Bertola and Pop Acev were locked in an intense battle in the final seconds of the race, with Bertola being able to edge Pop Acev by one second and win the third place. This helped him reach the 43 points needed to even out the first place standing in the overall FINA competition.
