European handball champions Vardar drew 31:31 against Poland's Wisla Plock in the final match of the Champions League group stage on Sunday, securing first spot in the standings and advancing to the quarterfinals.
Wisla led for most of the match, but Vardar managed to come back and earn a deserved draw.
Luka Cindric was Vardar's best player with seven goals, followed by Igor Karacic with six, while Wisla's Duarte scored a match-high 10 goals.
Group A final standings: Vardar - 21 points, Barcelona-20, Nantes-20, Rhein-Neckar-17, Szeged-13, Kristianstad-8, Wisla Plock-7, PPD Zagreb-6.
Vardar plays the winner of duel Szeged-Kiel in the quarters scheduled for the second half of April.
