According to the State Statistical Office data, the Consumer Price Index in January 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was 99.6, while the Retail Price Index was 99.9.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in January 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in cereals by 3.7%, other bakery products by 3.6%, frozen vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 3.2%, other milk products by 2.4%, flours and other cereals by 2.2%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 1.5%, fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 1.4%, dried, salted or smoked meat, food products n.e.c by 1.3%, frozen fruit by 1.1%, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery, non-alcoholic beverages by 0.9%, rice and meat by 0.5%, milk, cheese and curd by 0.3%, oils and fats by 0.2%. In January, there was also a decrease of the indices of hospital services by 10.0%, photographic and cinematographic equipment and optical instruments by 5.7%, information processing equipment by 4.1%, footwear by 3.1%, passenger transport by air by 2.9%, accommodation services by 2.7%, equipment for sport, camping, and open-air recreation by 1.5%, gas for households by 1.0%, solid fuels by 0.8%, clothing and repair of household appliances by 0.6%, therapeutic appliances and equipment by 0.3%, household furniture and major household appliances by 0.2%.
An increase in the Consumer Price Index in January 2018, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 2.6%, fish and seafood by 1.3% and eggs by 0.3%.
In January 2018, there was also an increase of the indices of liquid fuels for households by 10.4%, telephone and telefax equipment by 9.8%, liquid fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 2.7%, other personal effects by 2.5%, gardens, plants and flowers by 2.4%, pets and related products by 2.2%, domestic services and household services, package holidays by 1.2%, spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 1.0%, actual rentals for housing and motor cars by 0.7%, other services in respect of personal transport equipment, recording media by 0.5%, passenger transport by road by 0.4%, medicines by 0.3%, other services relating to the dwelling n.e.c,
other medical products n.e.c, maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment, jewellery, clocks and watches by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in January 2018, in comparison with January 2017, increased by 1.1%, while the Retail Price Index increased by 2.3%
