Veropoulos Invests €2m In New Macedonian Stores

Greek retailer Veropoulos has opened its eighth Vero supermarket in Macedonia, located in the city of Tetovo, as well as the third Jumbo toy store in the country.

The total investment in the two new stores, with a total sales area of 2,600 square metres, amounts to over €2 million.

In line with the company strategy for providing support to local producers, the new supermarket offers a wide range of products from 800 Macedonian producers, with which Veropoulos has been working intensively in recent years.

Investment Plans
This year, Veropoulos is celebrating 20 years of presence in Macedonia, having invested a total of €60 million in the country. Last year, the retailer introduced a new loyalty programme, through which consumers benefit from many discounts and lower bills when shopping.

According to the general manager of Vero Marketi, Lucas Biasas, the company has plans to open three or four new Vero stores by the end of 2017.

With the opening of the new supermarket in Tetovo, Veropoulos now has a total of 11 Vero stores, of which seven are in Skopje and two each in Bitola and Tetovo. In addition, the Greek company owns a shopping mall in Skopje, the franchise for the Jumbo toy stores, and the fast food restaurant Goodies.
