The Ministry of Culture has selected Berovo as the 2017 City of Culture.
“The programme of Berovo municipality contains concrete, quality and various cultural contents in all fields, characterized by broad genre diversity and stylish traits”, said the ministry.
The programme includes performances by young and renowned artists, tours abroad, productions by bordering towns and institutions, thus securing equal cultural development and stimulating international cultural development of the municipality.
Traditional festivals and events will also be held, along with music concerts of all genres, literary readings and promotions, art exhibits, plays produced by domestic and foreign theatre companies.
“Giving Berovo the title ‘2017 City of Culture’ will contribute to the enhancement of culture in the region, as well as its development and promotion in general”, added the ministry.
