Macedonia qualifies for UEFA U21 European Championship


Macedonia have qualified for a men's UEFA final tournament at any level for the first time after a thrilling final day where both Iceland and France led the group early on. Scorers for Team Macedonia: Markoski (18.) and Bardi (22.). Babunski missed a penalty shot in the 37th minute. Big audience for the first time at a U21 game, nationale arena Filip II of Macedon well attended ca. 20.000 spectators.

Whie Macedonia playing, everyone kept an eye over to Iceland, the leader od the gorup.
Iceland began on top but ended up losing 4-2 to Ukraine, allowing Macedonia to secure the first place with a 2-0 defeat of Scotland. France's 3-0 win in Northern Ireland was enough for second place but not a play-off.
