Igor Stefanovski wins the second race at the Nürburging

Igor Stefanovski won the second race of the day at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, finishing ahead of the LEIN Racing SEAT of Fábio Mota and Race 1 winner Petr Fulín, after the Honda of Peter Rikli retires on the final lap.

Championship leader Christjohannes Schreiber was unable to start the second race after damage from his puncture in Race 1.

Andreas Pfister started from pole position in his DSG-equipped SEAT León, but he was quickly caught and passed by the fast-starting #112 Honda Civic TCR of Peter Rikli.

Rikli led the way until the third and final lap, stopping whilst leading on the final lap of Race 2 for the second weekend in a row, handing an easy victory to Macedonia’s Igor Stefanovski.

With Fulín finishing in the podium, the Czech driver has made a significant leap in the points standings, and is now just one point behind Schreiber going to the next race in four weeks’ time at Vila Real in Portugal.
