
The increase in the Consumer Price Index by 0.1% in April 2016, in comparison with the previous month, is a result of the higher indices of fresh or chilled fruit by 4.8%, dried vegetables, other preserved or processed vegetables by 1.4%, alcoholic beverages by 0.4%, edible offal and fresh or chilled fish by 0.3% and frozen vegetables other than potatoes by 0.2%.
In April 2016, there was also an increase of the indices of liquid fuels and lubricants for household by 5.5%, passenger transport by road by 4.9%, liquid fuels for household by 4.4%, package holidays and social protection by 3.7%, services for the maintenance and repair of the dwelling by 3.5%, footwear by 3.1%, bicycles by 2.4%, passenger transport by air by 1.8%, other services in respect of personal transport equipment by 1.5%, tools and equipment for house and garden by 1.2%, gas for households by
0.9%, solid fuels for households by 0.4%, jewelry, clocks and watches by 0.3% and household textiles by 0.2%.
A decrease in the Consumer Price Index in April 2016, in comparison with the previous month, was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes by 6.3%, oils and fats by 2.4%, other food products by 1.4%, rice by 1.3%, meat by 0.5%, flours and other cereals, dried, salted or smoked meat and other meat preparations by 0.4%, milk, cheese and eggs by 0.3% and bread, other bakery products, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 0.2%.
In April, there was also a decrease of the indices of hospital services by 4.4%, spare parts and accessories for personal transport equipment by 2.3%, cleaning and maintenance products for the dwelling by 2.2%, services and articles for personal hygiene and wellness by 0.3% and medicines and cultural services by 0.2%.
The Consumer Price Index in April 2016, in comparison with April 2015, registered a decrease by 0.7%, while the Retail Price Index decreased by 0.6%.
