Macedonian Producers Join FIAPF

The Macedonian Association of Film Producers has become a member of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, FIAPF.

The decision was taken during the General Assembly of FIAPF in Cannes on 20 May 2017. The Macedonian Association of Film Producers also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Association of Producers from Kosovo in Cannes on 21 May.

The Macedonian Association of Film Producers has 15 members, all of whom had to meet the criteria set out by FIAPF.

"This is a very important day for Macedonia," said the director of Macedonian Film Agency Mimi Gjorgoska - Ilievska. "This will contribute to the process of democratisation of the film industry in the country and will enable us to actively engage in solving the issues we face in the film industry in our country.”

She added, "This is the reason all of us who participate in the realisation of film projects to be proud, and together with all the associations and individuals who work on the development of the film industry, to provide better conditions and legal regulations that will promote the film industry".
