Turkish musical “Legend of the Bird Simurg” to be performed in Skopje


The musical "Legend of the Bird Simurg" featuring 45 artists - members of the choir, the orchestra and the dance group at the TRT –Turkey’s State Radio Television, will be performed in Skopje-based Army Hall on Monday.

The show is part of the Balkan tour, which will be performed in Thessaloniki, Tirana, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Zagreb, Bucharest and Sofia. The Balkan tour is organised under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and is supported by the Government of Turkey, competent ministries, state television TRT as well as numerous cultural institutions.

Simurg is the legend of the Phoenix, also referred to as the Simurgh that the show associates with Turkey’s history, presenting the bird’s journey through the “seven valleys of life”, a symbolic tour of the country’s seven regions.

After the premiere in theatre at the Istanbul Haliç Congress Center on May 6, 2016, the musical toured Turkey and some of the world’s key stages.
